The probable causes include – retrograde menstruation, peritoneal cell transformation, embryonic cell transformation, genetics, family history etc.

Endometriosis is an abnormal disorder in which endometrium grows outside of your uterus. The layer of tissue that covers inside of the uterus (endometrium) starts growing outside of it. The disease generally affects women of the age of 30 to 40. About 176 million women are affected by this condition.
